No Disasters
Panama is protected from natural disasters because of the way that it is situated. It can be seen on the Satellite map that this small country is a horizontally positioned strip of land from East to West. It is well protected by the large mountainous Peninsula on the North Eastern tip of Venezuela. It is out of reach from the frequent hurricanes that are menacing the Caribbean Basin, Mexico and South Eastern USA. The area has a stable geological structure and has had no earthquakes or live volcanoes. It is for all these reasons after all that it was selected for the construction of the Panama Canal.
